Michael Aram - Gingo Mini Dish

 

The Ginkgo Collection takes its inspiration from the intricacies of form and texture found in foliage from around the world. By interpreting plant forms in cast metal, Aram presents work, which is evocative of a natural environment transformed and redefined.

"The Gingko is a symbol of health, long life, strength and constancy. But it also has a delicacy. I have a ginkgo tree outside my bedroom, and wake up to the fluttering of those leaves most mornings. Sometimes the wind brings me a gift as a leaf flies in through an open window. I've tried to capture that sense of movement and fragility in metal." Michael Aram
