The Christmas Plate from Royal Copenhagen is one the world's oldest series of collectible Plates. 2011's motif is the 104th edition, & is Titled "Waiting For Santa". Created by Sven Vestergaard, it celebrates the introduction of the 1st Christmas tree in Copenhagen in 1811. A Dr. & his wife displayed the 1st tree with live candles & it created a big sensation in the Danish capital.The Plate shows the tree & a boy watching out expectantly for Santa Claus. 7" diameter. Comes Gift boxed. Hand Painted Porcelain. Made in Denmark.
