The Flint Collection takes its inspiration from the lore of ancient craftsmanship and the application of these time-honored techniques to modern shapes and environments. It is about the transformation of "industrial" to "beautiful", "technical" to "lyrical". The collection also strives to represent the clean lines and minimal atmosphere associated with the ideals of contemporary life and progressive design.

"Although the name "Flint" references stone, for me there is something very fluid about the surface - like rain coming down a window pane. Since most of my pieces are first made in clay, this surface was inadvertently created by scraping left over clay off my work table. There is something poetic about the slow and unintentional gathering of random material to create a texture of such beauty and narrative possibility. It's as if the motif designed itself."
