Lladro - Wisdom of Buddha

The story goes that the founder of the Buddhist religion was conceived when his mother received a visit in her dreams from a sacred white elephant, which touched her left rib with a white lotus flower it held in its trunk.

This is the first Buddha in history, the first person to reach enlightenment. That is why the Lladro artists have shown it on a white elephant, symbolizing the power to overcome any obstacle. In turn, Buddha's body is resting on a platform in the form of a lotus, a flower symbolizing purity because it grows in the muddy water of lakes.
